Embroidery – Tatjana Golder – bracelet “In the name of the rose”

TITLE: bracelet “In the name of the rose”

Duration: 3 hours

Description: This special program of Tatjana Golder offers something, that’s absolutely unique. The workshop teaches in short time how to extend your wardrobe with Haute-Couture fashion like cuffs and brooches.

The kit contains: You get a box with custom-made materials for the required art piece. It includes colored ribbons, embroidered leaves, gilded magnets, pearls, and thread. In the set is all the necessary stuff included.

TITLE: Create a Masterpiece

Duration: 2 hours

Description: Create your own textile portrait in the same style as the artist Katherine Roumanoff. She will guide you throughout the class while you make an original work of art.

For this lesson, the students must bring: Very sharp scissors that cut perfectly, fabric that you love and a sunny disposition. Additional fabrics will be available during the class.

Knitting – L’île aux fils – Knitted Cactus

TITLE: KNITTED CACTUS

Duration: 2h30

Description: During this class you will learn to knit the cactus of your choice. Each project is adapted to the student’s level (from beginner to those who know how to knit in the round).

Technical instructions for all 5 projects will be given to each student.

For this lesson, the students must bring: Circular needles (4mm or 4,5mm) for those wishing to learn how to knit round objects, scissors, yarn needle (not obligatory as Bérangère will have extras to loan during the class) and a pair of 4mm or 4,5mm needles (for those paying 5€ for the class kit).

Level: From beginners to experts. A variety of techniques can be learned from these projects based upon each student’s level.

Project size: Between 10 and 16 cm

Embroidery – Bernadette Baldelli – Ornamental tassel

 

Umbria embroidery workshop
Umbria is located in Central Italy, bordering Tuscany, and is a region known for its rich and diverse textile heritage. Tassels are essential decorative components of any project made with Umbrian embroidery. They are made using knots and needle embroidery that cover the entire tassel head. These ornaments can also be used to make jewelry. The two classes offered complement each other.

Quilt – Betsy Chutchian – Fall Medley

TITLE: Fall Medley

Duration: 3 hours

Description: A fun to make scrappy medallion quilt for your table or wall, perfect for all seasons. Students will learn quick machine piecing techniques for various blocks. We will discuss the range of fabrics and how to achieve a scrappy look.

Size of project: 27” x 27” (about 68.5cm x 68.5cm)

Kit contains: All fabrics needed to make the quilt, including binding. Fabrics may vary from the photo, but will have the same colors. Blocks will be pre cut for your convenience in class.

Skills needed: General knowledge of sewing machine.
For this lesson, the students must bring: rulers ( 6”x12”, 4 1/2”) rotary cutter, mat, general sewing notions.

Quilt – Di Ford – Couronne d’Oiseau

 

TITLE: “Couronne d’Oiseau” from the Bird Wreath Quilt

Duration: 3 hours

DESCRIPTION: You will just make the centre Appliqué block NOT the whole quilt.
You will learn the needle turn Appliqué and English Paper Piecing.

The kit contains: The kit will include the background fabric, all the prints for the Bird and flowers and leaves, hexagon and pentagon papers and the pattern for the whole quilt.

The kit is for the inner Appliqué block only … just the area on the cream background fabric; not the border fabric or the hexagon border. Please note: the fabric will vary from the photos.

For this lesson, the students must bring: – Size 10 Applique or Sharps needles
– Size 9 Embroidery Crewel needles
– Fine pins
– Sharp Scissors ….not too large. A 4” (10cm) length blade is perfect. I prefer the Karen Kaye Buckley scissors with the blue handles.
– 100% cotton thread in a caramel color. This color will blend with all the fabrics in your kit. Aurifil color number 2370 in the 80 weight is perfect.
– Your favorite marking pen or pencil to mark the RIGHT side of your fabric.

TITLE: Scalloped Rag Rug

Description: Learn to make a rug out of fabric strips as well as the tool needed to do so. The technique is simple and relaxing!

Level: All levels

Project size: During the class, we will make a rug measuring 30 cm in diameter. However, students may enlarge their rugs once at home.

I am a professional longarmer for 5 years, and have been trained in United States, with well known longarmers. I worked in a quilt shop. I am a quilt trainer as well. »

TITLE: Machine quilt on a sewing machine : How to quilt a sampler.
Tula Pink “100 modern quilt blocks”.

Duration: 3 hours

DESCRIPTION: Pattern I pieced with Brigitte Heitland collection: “ Zen Chic “ .
How to machine quilt, enhance your fabrics, piecing and your blocks …
Several quilting patterns to fit each block.
How to choose the batting, needle, threads. How to prepare the sandwich. I’ll demonstrate quilting with rulers.

For this lesson, the students must bring: – an ordinary or quilting ruler 20 cm ou 12 ”.
– chalk pencil, or frixion or pencil for marking on fabric
– note pad
– Easy Kut Spring Action scissors (if not, small embroidery scissors)
At “La Couserie Créative”, they will have some on their booth.

Optional : with 4 leftover, ugly blocks you can prepare a small top , as photo.
Shashings : 2” finished. Top 18 ½ “ x 18 ½” , bring backing 20 “ x 20 “.
I will provide you the batting.
If you want you can bring your top, we ‘ll see how to quilt it, but you will not quilt your own quilt during the class.

Level required: friendly with a sewing machine, if you have already machine quilt it’s better !

Knitting – Ana Feel Wool – “SQUARE PILLOW DESIGN”

 

The concept is very simple:
Relax while enjoying the touch of soft wool caress your fingers and arms…large-scale knitting soothes as you go.
Without even knowing how to knit or crochet, you can create your very own, stylish, interior designs projects with just a few turns of your arms and fingers. Results are almost immediate as you only need a few hours to complete one project.

 

TITLE: SQUARE PILLOW DESIGN – Kitting with your arms / fingers

Duration: 2 hours

Description: Learn how to knit without needles. Instead, use your arms. During this class, you will create a stylish, knitted cushion with your arms.

The kit contains: Skein of XXL 100% Merino wool and the interior pillow. Merino wool is an exceptionally soft, high quality and insulating wool, without a doubt the finest in the world. The skein included in the kit has been imported by the artist especially for this class.

Level of difficulty: This class is for everyone – knitters, first-timers, men, women, children, teenagers, mothers, grandmothers.

There is no need to have any knowledge about knitting or crocheting.

DESCRIPTION: Learn about a « magical » embroidery technique known as Punch Needle. During this class you will embroider a Philodendron Monstera leaf. Punch Needle is a simple and fun technique that renders very modern designs.

Pojagi is an ancient, traditional quilting technique from Korea. Contemporary, free-form and colorful shapes are often used in Pojagi compositions.

Umbria embroidery workshop
Umbria is located in Central Italy, bordering Tuscany, and is a region known for its rich and diverse textile heritage. Tassels are essential decorative components of any project made with Umbrian embroidery. They are made using knots and needle embroidery that cover the entire tassel head. These ornaments can also be used to make jewelry. The two classes offered complement each other.

TITLE: Applique Masterclass with Di Ford Hall

DESCRIPTION: This year my class will be a whole day class! So lots of time for me to work with you and master you needle turn hand applique skills.
The project will be a 22” square ( 56cm ) which will become a center for a Medallion Quilt . I have designed the block for a re make of my “Rotherfield Greys” Quilt in my first book “Primarily Quilts ….19th Century Inspirations”.
I have named it “Rotherfield Greys Revisited”. I am using my new fabric line with Andover Fabrics “Maling Road”. The center square is all applique including Broderie Perse. There will also be some English Paper Pieced Hexagons.
The class is for students with an intermediate Level

The kit contains: a total of 2 meters of fabric from my “Maling Road” fabric line. Hexagon papers and acrylic template, Pattern for centre medallion, Freezer paper for templates for applique
The contents of the kit will make all the center medallion, a 22” (56cm) square plus extra to use in the rest of the quilt. (It will not be sufficient to finish the whole quilt)
For this lesson, the students must bring: – Size 10 Applique or Sharps needles
– Size 9 Embroidery Crewel needles
– Fine pins
– Sharp Scissors ….not too large. A 4” (10cm) length blade is perfect. I prefer the Karen Kaye Buckley scissors with the blue handles.
– 100% cotton thread in a caramel color. This color will blend with all the fabrics in your kit. Aurifil color number 2370 in the 80 weight is perfect.
– Your favorite marking pen or pencil to mark the RIGHT side of your fabric.

Pojagi is an ancient, traditional quilting technique from Korea. Contemporary, free-form and colorful shapes are often used in Pojagi compositions.

TITLE: ROUND PILLOW DESIGN – Kitting with your arms / fingers

Duration: 2 hours

Description: Learn how to knit without needles. Instead, use your arms. During this class, you will create a stylish, knitted cushion with your arms.

The kit contains: Skein of XXL 100% Merino wool and the interior pillow. Merino wool is an exceptionally soft, high quality and insulating wool, without a doubt the finest in the world. The skein included in the kit has been imported by the artist especially for this class.

Level of difficulty: This class is for everyone – knitters, first-timers, men, women, children, teenagers, mothers, grandmothers.

There is no need to have any knowledge about knitting or crocheting.

TITLE: Circle of Sisters – Hand pieced or English Paper Pieced

DESCRIPTION: We will be learning the skills and techniques to make a 26” block; this block could be used to continue making a 4, 6 or 9-block quilt or to create a small wall hanging or cushion.

TITLE: Photographs as inspiration for creative textiles with photoshop elements

DESCRIPTION: Discussion and demonstration of certain techniques for inspiration. Each student is invited to bring along 2 images on the same theme on a usb key. For each couple of images I will demonstrate a few possibilities encouraging you to ask questions and make your demands. The images created will be put onto your key for your personal use. Each student will be able to watch and record all the creations.

TITLE: An introduction to straight stitches on penelope canvas

Duration: 3 hours

DESCRIPTION: discover our Aubusson fine wool, and the linen.
How to organize your work, and how to stretch the sides of the canvas using a cotton strap.
The two basic stitches, gobelin and Hungarian, plus a variation of the latter.
Discover our method, working with both hands on a frame.

The kit includes the piece of canvas, Aubusson fine wool and the needle.

All the necessary accessories, including the frame, will be provided. You can buy the frame if you wish.

TITLE: Crochet a heart brooch

Duration: 1h30

Description: Learn to crochet a voluminous object starting with a magic circle. You may choose to crochet in circles or in spirals. All necessary information will be taught during the class. Once complete, we will mount the heart on brooch pins so that you may leave the class proudly wearing your latest creation!

For this lesson, the students must bring: Crochet needles n°2,5 or n°3. It may be possible to loan some students needles during the class.

Level: All levels, from beginners who know just the basics of crocheting (chain and tight mesh) to those with advanced crochet skills.

Quilt – Véronique Diligent – “Vase de Fleurs”

 

TITLE: Vase de fleurs

Duration: 3 hours

Technics : preparation for appliqué, appliqué, reverse appliqué, clamshells.

You will have in the kit : Background fabric 1mx50cm, all fabrics needed to complete the vase, and enough left to make the clamshells. A small bottle of Roxane Glue, 3 appliqué needles, 1m of Freezer paper, a 2” clamshell template, 1 grey lead pencil ( but they can bring their favorite pen to trace on the right side of the fabric).
A second pattern for a different vase is included in the pattern

The kit has everything to complete the vase of flowers, students will need to add some of their personal stash to complete the clamshell border. The pattern contains 2 patterns.

For this lesson, the students must bring: scissors with sharp point, threads of neutral colors (grey, brown, rust), needles, applique pins, waste thread (useful but not necessary).

Quilt – Betsy Chutchian – Bittersweet

 

TITLE: Bittersweet

Duration: 3 hours

Description: A sweet table topper in the warm, colors of Fall. Small stars and an hourglass border will come together quickly with quick piecing methods and my tips. Students will learn quick and accurate methods for making flying geese and a being a warm fall look with madder fabrics.

Size of project: 17” X 23 3/8”

Kit includes: All fabrics needed to make the little quilt, including binding and special flying geese ruler. Fabrics may vary from the photo.

Skills needed: Basic knowledge of sewing machine.
For this lesson, the students must bring: Square rulers (4 1/2”, 9 1/2”), rotary cutter, mat, mechanical pencil or marking pen and general sewing notions (scissors, pins, etc.)

TITLE: ROUND CARPET DESIGN – Kitting with your arms / fingers

Description: Learn how to knit without needles. Instead, use your arms. During this class, you will create a stylish, knitted cushion with your arms.

The kit contains: Skein of XXL 100% Merino wool and the interior pillow. Merino wool is an exceptionally soft, high quality and insulating wool, without a doubt the finest in the world.

The skein included in the kit has been imported by the artist especially for this class.

Level of difficulty: This class is for everyone – knitters, first-timers, men, women, children, teenagers, mothers, grandmothers.

There is no need to have any knowledge about knitting or crocheting.
