Created in 2019 with the goal of awakening new passions and helping our visitors to discover some domains of textile art, the Make and Take Lab has completed, once more, a mix of wonderful and impressive projects! Free workshops, between 30 and 45 minutes, were conducted during the full 4 days by true professionals: Carmen and Oriane La Grande Rouge (both final candidates in Cousu Main, french equivalent of The Great British Sewing Bee) and Calista, who works at Wonderfil. The Make and Take space is your chance to try sewing and quilting in a very friendly environment! Let’s take a look back on the different workshops of this 12th edition:
Visitors learned how to make a set of coasters, made with splendid fabrics from Art Gallery Fabrics. To help them in their creation, the visitors could count on Wonderfil threads and on Clover sewing material. The workshop was an opportunity for the participants to freely discover the sewing machines and to leave with their self-made project!
Couching with Wonderfil:
Wonderfil, one of the show’s main partners, did us the pleasure to teach couching during a workshop! This technique consists in creating, with the help of a sewing machine and fancy threads, decorative patterns on all types of medium.
Handmade embellishment with Wonderfil:
This workshop was particularly liked! With the help of Clover embroidery hoops and Wonderfil splendid threads, the participants learned to embroider by hand and decorate the letter of their choice with decorative stitches!
