About Laura Gourmel
Laura Gourmel is a textile artist whose work focuses on memory, transformation, space and time.
A monochrome embroidered stain becomes a trace of the unconscious, a discreet and precious organic insect.
She mixes the dark side of drypoint engraving with the luminosity of threads, or encloses objects in embroidered cocoons.
Her work has been exhibited in France, Belgium and Canada.
